Notes on correct C&R

 

Please unhook fish in the landing net, waiting for the fish to stop moving. Unhook in the net preferably in the water but if not able to do so, place fish and net on the grass. Using forceps carefeully unhook and without removing fish from the net and place in water. Slowly allow the fish to cycle water through its gills and gently agitate the net keeping fish up right where possible using the net. The fish should revive, release when it is strong enough. There is no need to pick fish up with hands.

 

Purchase of a ticket also permits non-anglers to visit. We provide picnic tables for your use.

An Environment Agency rod licence is required.

Equipment Hire

All equipment can be hired for £10. This lets fly anglers fish without the need to bring any equipment. Ideal for beginners wanting to try fly fishing without making that initial spend or holiday makers who don't want to bring tackle with them. Please note, that this equipment is of high quality and all lost or broken equipment must be paid for. It is only available between 9:00am and 5:00pm and should be booked in advance.

Season Tickets

We are pleased to offer season tickets, with the advantage that you pay only for the fish caught. Tickets last a calendar year. Full terms and conditions are available on request.

Gutting, Filleting and Smoking services

On payment of a small charge we will be happy to gut or fillet your catch for you and seal it in a sleeve ready for freezing.

The smoking service will turn your catch into superb, cold smoked sliced trout. As part of this service the fish will be pin boned and vacuum packed.
