Both lakes are open and prospects are good. The water flows are very good keeping ice away and fish sitting in the flow.
Work is now starting on refurbishing the fishermans lodge, to provide shelter and drinks facilities for fishermen.
The recent stocking of Brownies has resulted in some excellent top of the water activity. The largest Brownie caught last weekend was just under 6lbs.
The top lake previously used for coarse fishing is now open for fly fishing from October to March.

This is in addition to the main lake which is open all year round. Both lakes are now stocked with rainbow (up to double figures) and brown trout (up to 7.5lbs) with brown trout on catch and release.
Prospects for February
Fish in the top pool are still mainly fry feeding but holding in the main at the top end. Action can be found on both waters with large flies pulled slowly. Damsels and orange lures on a slow retrieve best. Very good rod averages should be expected. Some large fish have shown with the largest this month pushing 14lbs.
Rod Average (to act as a guide to fishing prospects)
The last two weeks anglers returns show 87 percent achieved their full bag limit, so fishing is on the easier side at present, with fish very hungry.
