Water quality is at present superb, clear water with excellent oxygen levels. Fish are taking dries eagerly when overcast and at morning or evening.

Catch and release is now available at hollies. Please check out the new pricing options. This is due to the requests from fishermen for a more flexible fishing policy. Stocking rates have now been changed to reflect this change.

The top lake previously used for coarse fishing will remain open for fly fishing until further notice.

This is in addition to the main lake which is open all year round. Both lakes are now stocked with rainbow (up to high double figures) and brown trout (up to 7.5lbs) with brown trout on catch and release.

Prospects for July

Fish in the main pool are eagerly taking dries in the morning and evening and when overcast. With excellent water quality and clear water stalking both browns and rainbows is possible.  Small imitiative nymphs work well for sub-surface activity.

The last two weeks anglers returns show 80 percent achieved their full bag limit, but this includes anglers not completing returns after fishing.
